Gingrich: Can't Relax With Dem Donors on Mueller's Hiring List

"I think he's furious", Gingrich said.

Somebody said the other day, I thought this was a very good test.

"Everybody on the left has been walking around town chanting, 'watch for the Russian connection, watch for the Russian connection, look for the collusion, '" Gingrich said. "And now I get an independent counsel who is going to mess up at least the next year at a minimum.' And who, by the way, you'll notice is expanding his charge", Gingrich said.

Gingrich once praised Special Counsel Robert Mueller on May 17 as a "superb choice" and praised his reputation as "impeccable for honesty and integrity".

Gingrich didn't directly respond.

Gingrich reversed course from a month ago, when he tweeted praise of Mueller, calling him "a superb choice" to head the Russian Federation investigation.

The conversation started when Jedediah Bila asked Gingrich, "Are people frustrated with him, are they disappointed with him? Here we are back to where Comey was", Gingrich said to host Judge Jeanine. "OK, now the special counsel happens to be a close friend of Comey, which is weird".

But in a Politico report from 2011, Gingrich criticized liberals for blaming conservatives over the shooting of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a Democrat who survived being shot in the head during a shooting at a constituent event in Tucson.

The former House speaker and Trump surrogate addressed the ongoing probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and the left's desperation to uncover anything that would incriminate Trump and lead to impeachment. "His lawyer wants to take down Bob Mueller". Frankly, I think the President should stop talking about it. "They're essentially engaging in a scorched earth litigation strategy that is beginning with trying to discredit the prosecutor".

Gingrich said Mueller would likely not be able to find any collusion or obstruction so he is going to examine finances.

Gingrich: "You've had a series of things which send signals that tell people that it's OK to hate Trump, it's OK to think of Trump in violent terms, it's OK to consider assassinating Trump".

One of Trump's biggest supporters, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, indicated today that Trump was not helping himself with tweets like that, stating it doesn't "serve him well". "But it's nearly like - it's who he's been his whole life".
