Both the devices feature the same specifications that were present in the standard LG G6, except internal memory, which as mentioned above has doubled in case of LG G6+ and halved in case of 32GB variant. LG mentions that it will deliver updates to all variants in the G6 series simultaneously, and that a new software update rolling out early next month will deliver an "enhanced security option" in the form of a facial recognition feature.

The G6 was oddly fragmented between regions, with the United States exclusively getting wireless charging at the expense of the quad DAC. If you have been following the news lately, then you might already be aware of the fact that the LG G6 has wireless charging in some markets whereas it doesn't have that feature in certain markets. It was speculated to be dubbed LG G6 Pro.

LG has just launched a beefed-up new version of the G6.

First of all, to begin with, let's just say that the LG G6+ is more like the ideal LG G6 which all of us wanted.

The new variant will be available in three new color options - Optical Astro Black, Optical Terra Gold and Optical Marine Blue. LG has applied different coating that will make the back panel change hue, depending on light reflection. It will also come in Mystic White which is also available for the original LG G6. In fact, it is yet to be seen if the company is planning on releasing them outside South Korea in other markets like the USA etc. Your smartphone will detect the motion and recognize your face, even if the screen is turned off.

Another feature, called Low Power Consumption leverages on the Qualcomm chipset to improve battery usage. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with 100-degree wide angle lens.
