"We could see a couple of storms with gusty winds, and a couple of storms, because of all the moisture in the air, that could produce localized heavy downpours". Isolated showers and storms are more likely across western Kansas through the work week, however a few of those storms may move into central Kansas during the overnight hours Wednesday and Friday.

Following the rain this morning, a cold front will push through the state sparking off more storms.

Sunday night|Partly cloudy skies. There is a Slight Risk for severe weather tonight and into Monday morning.

Tuesday|Chance of afternoon showers. Then it's another warm and muggy night as lows only reach the lower 70s. High winds, heavy rain and small hail are the main threats, but depending on clearing of clouds throughout the day, the tornado threat is low, but not zero. Otherwise, Monday will be warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s.

Leftover shower activity will end early Tuesday morning in the metro, but a few showers may linger across far southeastern Virginia into the afternoon. Slight chance afternoon shower.

Around lunchtime more rain develops and heads eastward. Highs will gradually cool back down in the 80s next weekend with high confidence that next Sunday will be dry.

Tue: High: 93 Mostly sunny.
