New England Patriots NFL quarterback Tom Brady takes part in a promotional training event in Beijing, China June 18, 2017.

The game Brady is talking about was a preseason contest against the Seattle Seahawks back in 2007. For years, there have been reports about a planned preseason National Football League game that will be played in China, but those plans have yet to come to fruition. The game was cancelled, however.

Brady, 39, was visiting China for the first time. He expressed his desire to play a game there during his trip.

With his career coming closer to a close, Brady wants a chance to play that game finally. "But one day I hope that there are many games here, and over the course of a year, because it's such a great sport and because I love it so much, to bring that here and to bring the discipline and incredible strategy involved".

The NFL has expanded its global presence in recent years, an effort mostly centered on London. There will be four games played in London this season, with two being held at the usual site, Wembley Stadium, while the other two will be played at Twickenham Stadium. Perhaps Brady will volunteer his team to participate.
