Ronaldo, the reigning Ballon d'Or and Best Fifa Men's Player award victor, has been linked with a return to Manchester United having been "outraged" by what he feels is unfair treatment by Spanish tax authorities, making him determined to leave the country.

Zidane, who is well aware of the influence that Ronaldo has on the players at the club, also expressed his confidence that the problem would be resolved soon.

Since Mourinho is keen to sign Alvaro Morata, also from Real Madrid, United are ready to bid £184 million plus De Gea for Morata and Cristiano.

The newspaper says the Portuguese worldwide has instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to do all he can to secure a move back to Old Trafford as he believes he still has unfinished business at United. "I'm sure he will tell us and we will see".

Following these allegations, the four-time Ballon d'Or victor posted a picture of himself with his fingers to his lips on Instagram with the caption: "Sometimes the best answer it's to be quiet".

The 70-year-old Perez, who ran unopposed, was reelected for a fifth four-year mandate at the Spanish powerhouse. I have no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo is innocent.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Ronaldo has asked agent Jorge Mendes to do "everything" to secure a return to United should he leave Madrid ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

"I have not talked with Cristiano. but they tell me has been treated badly in this country". What I will say is that everyone must fulfil their tax obligations. The principle is that, starting from that principle, and Cristiano has always had the will to fulfil because I know him as a person. The former United man is nearly in a league of his own in terms of physical capabilty given how well he looks after himself, meaning there are at least a few more seasons at the top of world football left in the forward. Although that claim will be met with understandable scepticism, not least because of the briefings from Ronaldo's camp this week, clubs are nevertheless being encouraged to believe he is serious in his desire to quit and would welcome offers.
