"Jeff Goldblum called me - and I'm not going to do an impression - but he was like, 'Look, I've added a couple things, and I thought I'd perform it for you.' [Laughs] I was like, 'Oh, great, okay.' So, we sat on the phone for an hour as he ran these lines, and we talked about it". For the dialogue for Dr. Ian Malcolm, he drew heavily from Michael Crichton's original novels - and from Goldblum.

So in addition to some classic dialogue reminiscent of Crichton's 1990 Jurassic Park sci-fi novel, we can expect Goldblum Goldbluming all throughout Jurassic World 2 - which sounds positively delightful.

"Maybe one of my highlights of this whole process is Goldblum", he recalled. And, I mean, that's - it was nearly better than being there on set. "It was great", Trevorrow said. Make it happen! Be like Life, and find a way! That's partly because Jurassic World scored $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office, but also Trevorrow and his co-writer Derek Connolly did the heavy lifting by creating new characters, new scenarios, and setting the franchise on a new path.

While a fourth Jurassic Park movie was years in the making, with producer Steven Spielberg going through a number of different permutations before settling on a take from director/co-writer Colin Trevorrow, development on Jurassic World 2 has been much more swift. It does have the big action in the middle.

He said: "I like my character".

This isn't the first time Trevorrow has likened the sequel to a horror film, with the filmmaker having previously stated Jurassic World 2 will be scarier than the previous film. "There's a sequence in the middle that I've been watching - I mean, I watch dailies every day - but I've started to see stuff come together, and it's just insane", he teased.

For the most part, Jurassic World essentially acted as if the Jurassic Park sequels never happened and it ended up really working for the whole storyline.

A few weeks back, meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum also recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to chat about why he made a decision to climb aboard a new dinosaur adventure in the franchise, and it turns out it had more than a little to do with the presence of new Jurassic director J.A. Bayona.

Also starring Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Rafe Spall, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, and Bayona's good-luck charm Geraldine Chaplin, Jurassic World 2 will be with us on June 22nd, 2018.
