Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was re-elected on Monday but didn't make any comment about Ronaldo in his news conference.

Morata's agent told calciomercato.com last week that the striker's proposed transfer to Manchester United awaits a decision from Real.

But in a later interview with radio station Onda Cero he revealed he had plans to talk to the Portuguese in the coming days.

"I'm sure he will speak to us about what has happened (with the tax case), which has obviously affected his credibility, and we'll see what happens".

"I haven't learnt very much about the situation, he's at a very important tournament at the moment in the Confederations Cup and until that ends I'm not going to disturb the atmosphere of his team", added Perez.

In quotes published on Marca's website, Perez said: "We have built a legendary team with the best players from Spain and the world, but also with many players from our youth academy".

La Liga president Javier Tebas has "no doubt" that Cristiano Ronaldo is "innocent" of tax evasion; he knows the damage to the Spanish game if Ronaldo leaves.

The world's top clubs are ready to scramble for Ronaldo's signature including his former club United, who want to be title challengers again.

The Real Madrid ace denies all the charges and the paper says that the Portugal worldwide has been "angered and saddened by the claim and the reporting of it in Spain".

"Cristiano definitely didn't want us to pay his fine. he isn't like that".

The Ballon d'Or holder is reportedly seeking a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu due to scrutiny in Spain over his tax affairs.

He is accused of evading tax to the value of 14.7m euros (£13m; $16m) between 2011 and 2014. While Ronaldo's representatives have refuted the allegations, they have not denied the reports the player wants to leave Spain, fuelling what promises to be the biggest transfer saga of the summer.

So, with these rumors circulating, Manchester United should be extremely interested to get Ronaldo back if it's a real possibility.

"The clause for Cristiano is £1bn".
