Snap Map lets users share their location with friends, or choose to remain in "Ghost Mode".

The new feature will be available today to all iOS and Android Snapchat users across the globe. From here, you can see Snaps from the world, including snaps of events and breaking news. The new feature has been given an entirely new screen on the app. The new update will now allow Snapchatters world over to locate their friends with much ease and also tell what the other Snapchatters are doing in real time.

It's easy to get started - just pinch to zoom out and view the Map!

You can view the map and allow friends to see your location, and story if you have posted one at the location you took it.

You can also upload Snapchats to "Our Story" and these will then be available for the public to watch based on the location where they were uploaded. From there, you should notice a a bunch of Actionmojis (symbolising your friends) dotted around the map that springs up.

There are ways to share your location with a few select friends, the whole list, or none at all.

Of course, the feature doesn't work unless you have your location sharing settings on.

You can find out more details about the new Snap Map feature for Snapchat over at the company's website at the link below.

This update was not born completely of CEO Even Spiegal's creation, but because of Snapchat's secret acquisition of social map app Zenly for $250 million to $350 million.

CEO of Zenly Antoine Martin.
