Nadal will play Donald Young for a place in the last 32 as he bids to win Wimbledon for the first time since 2010. "After two years without having much on grass, I have positive feelings and I am happy about how i finished the match".

Nonetheless, the Spaniard's injury problems are behind him and he is in a good position to win Wimbledon.

He said: "The important thing is I am through. I'm playing well so let's see".

"I am happy with the way I started the season, I've been playing well since the beginning and now I have an opportunity to compete well on grass". "I'm excited to be playing here, in a tournament that I really love, enjoy playing". After that last year I couldn't play, 2015 was not my year of course.

The two-time Wimbledon champion hasn't gone beyond the quarterfinals since 2011 when he lost to Novak Djokovic in four sets in 2011.

Rafael Nadal, who had not played since his tenth coronation at Roland Garros three weeks ago, has experienced a smooth transition on the grass of Wimbledon in the face of the Australian John Millman, 137 global, swept 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 Monday.

There was a stunning clipped forehand after Millman reached for the sky to deliver a good smash, a drop shot with enough spin on it to make Shane Warne proud and finally a brutal first-serve return up the line as the Spaniard delivered an ominous warning to his title rivals.
