Ex-Bigg Boss contestant physically abused by husband

Former Bigg Boss finalist and model Mandana Karimi who was recently seen grilling Lopamudra Raut on BB10, has once again made it to the headlines. Her petition even mentions how, ahead of their marriage, Gupta insisted on her conversion to Hinduism.

Mandana Karimi, one of Indian television's most controversial reality show contestant recently tied the knot but filed for divorce from husband after being abused both verbally and physically.

According to a Times of India report, Mandana also alleges that she was asked to quit her career after getting married. A harassment complaint has also been filed against her mother-in-law.

The 31-year-old model turned actress said in her application that she came to India in 2012 to pursue modelling and acting and met Gaurav through a common friend.

The Iranian-national also complained that her husband and in-laws have expelled her from the house and are not allowing her in.

Mandana Karimi got married to businessman Gaurav Gupta on January 25, 2017, and it was a small but romantic affair.

The actress, in her petition, has asked for maintenance of up to Rs 10 lakh per month for her basic necessities and a compensation of Rs 2 crore for the trauma that she went through. Mandana wants her husband of five months Gaurav to give her monetary relief and be allowed to stay in the shared house.

Karimi's lawyer Madhukar Dalvi said that the matter is now in court and that they would contest it as per law. The next hearing of the case will take place on July 15th.
