Grilling hot dogs is a tradition as American as the Fourth of July itself.

Can top dogs Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo stay ahead of the pack at this year's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island?

Each year, contestants spar with their mouths at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Brooklyn, New York.

Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest festivities will begin at their flagship restaurant located at 1310 Surf Avenue at 10 a.m. with music and dance performances.

A nine-time Nathan's hot dog contest victor, Chestnut ate a record 70 hot dogs in just 10 minutes past year to regain the championship from Stonie. The competitive eater won her third straight competition previous year, downing 38½ hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes and besting three-time champion Sonya Thomas by 3½. She is the top-ranked female eater in the world and rated No. 4 overall behind established men's competitors Chestnut, Stonie and Carmen Cincotti.

The rules are simple: Eat as many hot dogs and buns as you can in 10 minutes. Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, also a three-time champion, is a +275 underdog.

Chestnut will fight to dominate the men's contest at 12:40 p.m.
