Margaret Atwood Wants Drake To Make A Cameo In 'Handmaid's Tale'

Drake is already one of Canada's national treasures, but he may cross over to legend status if a certain dystopian author gets her way.

In a recent conversation with author Junot Diaz in the Boston Review, Margaret Atwood, the author of the novel on which the TV series is based and a co-producer on the series, said that the show would go better with Drizzy.

It began when Díaz told Atwood about being in Toronto recently and said, "It seems like now Toronto - and we could say by extension Canada - has two global superstars: Margaret Atwood and Drake". (She has "met people who have met Drake", though.) But the whimsical interrogation led to a brilliant confession. "But you have to realise how o-l-d I am". He then asked Atwood, 77, if she had met the 30-year-old Grammy victor. Also: Margaret Atwood doesn't go to parties, not really.

JD: I understand. I just think that, Canada-I'll say this to the whole nation-you are missing a great opportunity to put these two folks together.

Atwood: Wouldn't it be fun for him to have a cameo in season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale?

Atwood: There you have it. Atwood suggested. "I'll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto". Why not? After all, the singer got his start acting on the teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?

Will Drake appear under his eye and make it to Gilead?
