Injured As Jet Blast Breaks IndiGo Bus Window At Delhi Airport

The incident happened at New Delhi airport due to jet blast allegedly from a SpiceJet plane while approaching a parking bay.

Jet blast refers to the force of hot air produced by the the jet engines of aircraft during or before takeoff. "The jet blast from the aircraft broke the right front window glass of the coach".

The Mumbai-bound flight departed from Delhi after ensuring all passengers had been given assistance, IndiGo said.

Indigo spokesperson said that the right front window of its plane was broken from the impact of the jet blast.

A Spicejet aircraft mistakenly impinged a parked IndiGo bus for ferrying passengers on Friday evening at Delhi airport.

"IndiGo Coach number 34 was parked at Bay 17 yesterday at 16:50 hours for boarding of passengers on flight 6E-191 enroute Delhi-Mumbai". As many as five passengers sustained minor injuries and they were taken to the airport clinic.The blast is being probed by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) aviation watchdogs. "This matter is being investigated by IndiGo safety department and the regulator", IndiGo added.

It is also too early to apportion responsibility as the pilots were following normal procedures.
