With his first major foray into the summer market, the German has sought to address that by bringing in the speedy Egypt global from Roma.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised new signing Mohamed Salah and is excited about the qualities he will bring to the side.

Liverpool previously attempted to sign Salah in 2014, only to be beaten to his signature by Chelsea.

"Even if people didn't know too much about him, they [must have] watched a few videos and they are impressive", he told the club's official website.

"We have had a few talks of course, spoke to each other - he is a really nice lad".

"He's a fantastic player with speed", Klopp said.

Egyptian star winger Mohamed Salah got his Liverpool career under way when he joined the team's training on Saturday.

"We said after last season there are a few things we would try to involve in an already really good squad". He brings all this in.

Klopp added: "He's a naturally fit boy and I'm really looking forward to working with him".

Salah's return to pre-season was delayed to give him more time to rest after playing for Egypt at the end of last term.

The Reds' new. No.11's return to training so early means he could potentially feature in the club's first two friendlies of the summer against Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic next Wednesday and Friday. He is really looking forward to coming to Liverpool and joining us.
