NDA's Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind arriving today

Kovind's poll managers expect that out of 776 MPs from both Houses, at least 550 will vote for the NDA candidate.

This meeting will also be attended by senior party leaders, including External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Thawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP's State Organisation General Secretary Suhas Bhagat, State BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan etc. "I will also take interest in the development of modern education", the NDA's presidential nominee said.

The TMC legislators of Tripura said that, they had come here to extend their support to the NDA's presidential candidate. While Roy has hinted that the UDP would support Kovind's candidature.

The ruling Meghalaya United Alliance has 44 members - 30 Congress, two Nationalist Congress Party, 11 Independents and one of the North East Socialist Democratic Party.

Ram Nath Kovind was the Governor of Bihar from October 8, 2015 till June 20 this year when current President, Pranab Mukherjee approved his resignation from the post.

"The party has organised a grand welcome for the party's Presidential nominee at the airport where more than 5,000 workers will be present", he said.per the programme, Kovind will reach chief minister's residence and meet party MLAs and members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from the state.

The presidential election is scheduled to be held on July 17.

Referring to the support from different States, BJP's former State president Pralhad Joshi remarked that the Presidential elections will turn out to be a nominal contest and Mr. Kovind will win by a record margin. "We are expecting votes even from non-BJP MLAs and MPs in various states, including UP", he said.
