The long-delayed biopic about iconic British rockers Queen appears to be finally ready to take flight, with the surviving members of the band that brought us such hits as "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Killer Queen" confirming the project is moving forward after years of false starts. You've been hearing rumors about Bohemian Rhapsody The Film for some time, but now QOL [Queen Online] is about to become your most direct source of official information. "So yes, I think we're very close", May said. Award winning director Bryan Singer is the man who will be bringing the Queen and Freddie story alive.

The film will follow the life of Freddie Mercury, who will be played by Mr. Robot star Rami Malek (which validates news that was announced last November).

"If you've ever seen Singer's X-Men films, or the groundbreaking movie The Usual Suspects, you'll know this is a director with extraordinary imagination and style", the band wrote.

"A flawless choice to recreate the fabulous Queen years which brought us such unforgettable moments as Live Aid, which we can reveal will be faithfully recreated for a key sequence the film".

After years of being stuck in developmental hell, Queen's Freddie Mercury biopic is officially a go. Who could imagine a more flawless fit than this brilliant actor? "Rami has great presence and he's utterly dedicated to the project", they said. At this stage you probably know him best for TV's Mr Robot. The movie will begin pre-production next week in the United Kingdom, and shooting will begin in London in September. Of course, that "global jukebox" featured Queen with its late front man Freddie Mercury, who completely stole the show at Wembley Stadium and reinforced an already legendary foundation to an worldwide audience long before the internet's existence.
