Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner says she has "considered" a run for U.S. Senate.

"I have considered it", Jenner said of a run for political office; "I like the political side of it".

Jenner, an admitted Republican despite the party's open history of pushing back against LGBT advocates, told John Catsimatidis on AM 970 that she is absolutely considering getting more involved politically. "Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job". "... I would much rather convince Republicans to do better with (LGBT) issues than to try to convince Democrats to lower taxes and have less regulations and less government".

In the interview, Caitlyn Jenner indicated that she's given herself a timeline spanning half a year to determine whether she will be able to do "a better job" on the political inside or from "working the perimeter of the political scene".

However, she also said that her "deal-breaker with the Republican party" was that "if you mess with my community - you don't give us equality and a fair shot - I'm coming after you".

In January, Feinstein told a reporter she had not decided whether she would run in 2018, but she hinted she would like to if her health holds up, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times.

"I believe in little things like the Constitution". "Is that pretty clear?"

However, her clear addressing of interest in the Republican party and her recent statements about being a "Conservative Republican" are not really winning the hearts of many.

In June, USA TODAY reported on Jenner's political views and her on-again, off-again relationship with Trump. "I would seriously look at it".

"Yes, they're not very friendly to our community", Jenner replied.

Jenner running probably won't change the broader perception of the party amongst LGBT voters; only 21 percent of polled LGBT Americans lean Republican or identity as Republican. "Just sitting at the table with someone, that can change people's minds".
