Google Maps tells you the best time to start your journey

Tech company Google has updated its Google Maps platform. After all, we can't all afford the new Audi A8 that drives for you when in a jam. Not only does it tell you how to get somewhere but also when is the best time to make the journey.

While Google Maps already told users about the best possible path to reach as soon as possible to their destination, the search giant has now added a new feature that tells users the best time of the day to travel. When you've tapped in your start point and destination and hit the Directions button, before you choose to start your journey, tap Route Info instead. While showing you the usual estimated time and distance, a new bar graph appears, showing the relative time it will take your trip now (highlighted in either green, yellow, or red to indicate current traffic conditions) and an estimate of both how long it would have taken a half hour earlier and how long it will take in the next few hours.

First spotted by Android Police, this new Maps feature is something that nearly everyone can find value in. Usually the new features take long before they show up for users but this particular feature seems to be widely available already, but only for Android users of Google Maps.
