Heat Wave Begins To Build Across Green Country

A very typical mid-summer heat wave is setting up as we head into the upcoming work week. High temperatures Monday will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. That being the case, we will have to watch those heat index values as well, as they will likely head towards the low 100s, and we may see some heat advisories issued late in the week.

Thursday through Saturday we could experience our hottest temps so far this year.with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s and feels like temps about 100 degrees.

Both the temperatures and the humidity will CLIMB as the week progresses.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 96.

Expect lows tonight near 73 and light winds.

Greater Boston will likely see mostly clear and sunny skies this week with temperatures peaking daily in the 80s, the National Weather Service said.

Monday: Sunny and hot with a high near 97. Overnight lows will remain in the mid 70s.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97, the weather service said, and a south southwest wind of 6 to 8 miles per hour.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 78. You'll still need to water your lawns and plants as the next best chance for rain comes by the end of the week. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 100.

Friday Night. Partly cloudy, with a low around 80. The mid and upper 90s will make a comeback during the second half of the week.
