The new Kodak EKTRA is available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 19,990 starting from 4 pm, July 18 in India. It now supports RAW file format in the manual mode and has improved auto focus and face detection. The main highlight of the handset is its cameras.

"Kodak has a rich history in imaging technology and the launch of the Kodak Smartphone today demonstrates our ongoing commitment to bringing the latest advances in photography to consumers". The KODAK EKTRA Smartphone is all about capturing the moment, telling a story, and revelling the experience of photography.

Kodak's second stint at an Android phone, aka the Ektra - named after a 35mm camera from 1941 - has finally made its way to India.

The Kodak Ektra smartphone is already available in the U.S. and Europe and has 21-megapixel fast-focus camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture as well as 13-megapixel front-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f2.2 aperture. The camera comes with dual-tone LED flash and is also capable of capturing 4K videos. The device runs on dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is a massive letdown. For selfies, it has 13MP front camera with phase detection, auto focus and F/2.2 aperture. There is a physical shutter button placed on the bottom of the right edge.

The Kodak Ektra smartphone comes with a 5-inch Full HD display, carrying a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Both the display and rear camera lens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a Mediatek's Helio X20 deca-core processor, which is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The device also has a custom built camera app that is controlled by haptic touch, SLR-style Scene Selection Dial, where adjustments are made in real time via a range of settings including HDR, Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Sport, Night-time, Panorama and Bokeh, alongside a Smart Auto mode which auto-selects the best conditions for your photographs.

The phone also comes with a manual mode, which lets you adjust exposure, ISO, focus, white balance, and shutter speed. The Ektra also includes a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
