NL Central MLB baseball continues Sunday with the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. Lynn came around to score on Carpenter's RBI single and Pham doubled to left to send Carpenter racing home to push the St. Louis lead to 4-0. The Cardinals have won three of four after downing the Pirates 4-0 Saturday behind outstanding pitching and a few clutch hits.

Martinez is winless in his last four starts, and his last two outings have been among his worst of the year.

Jameson Taillon (5-3) lost for the first time in almost a month. Frazier singled and scored in the bottom of the first inning and he put the icing on the Bucs' ninth-inning comeback with his liner to right-center field against Cardinals reliever Brett Cecil, plating Jordy Mercer from second base. The under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings and St. Louis are 10-4 in the last 14 meetings. The Pittsburgh hurler scattered 10 hits over 5.2 innings, struck out five and allowed just two runs.

Francisco Cervelli went 2 for 4 with a double for Pirates. Harrison is hitting just.119 this month after going 0 for 4. Marte is eligible to return on Tuesday against Milwaukee. Moroff had 18 homer runs this season with Triple-A Indianapolis but was 4 for 48 in the majors.

"If he has a spark right away, maybe we can ride it", Hurdle said. "We're going to assess as we go, day by day". The 21-year-old Sierra hit.375 in eight games with the Cardinals earlier this season. Retire the Cardinals starter and he's through six innings with a 2-1 lead. No player in Cardinals franchise history has started his career with hits in his first nine games.
