Jeremy Ruckert, the nation's No. 1 tight end, announced via a Blecher Report video Monday afternoon that he'll be playing college football at Ohio State.

Jeremy Ruckert, a 6-foot-5, 238-pound tight end from Lindenhurst (N.Y.) High School, announced in a video on Monday that he chose the Buckeyes over offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin.

Alabama has finished with the top class in five of the past six recruiting classes, but with the Tide ranked outside the top 25, Ohio State has a chance to join Florida State as other teams that can unseat Alabama as the top-ranked recruiting class on signing day.

Ruckert had 30 offers from colleges - which included Alabama, Texas, Florida, and OR, among others - but narrowed his choice to a final four of Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin. Ruckert is the second NY native in Ohio State's class, joining four-star OT Matt Jones of Brooklyn Erasmus Hall.

It's possible Ohio State could add another tight end to pair with Ruckert in this cycle.
