Need a fillup? Gas prices may be climbing again

KINGSTON, N.Y. Average retail gasoline prices in NY have fallen 1.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.40 per gallon Sunday.

Two weeks after falling to the lowest level in 12 years for the Fourth of July holiday, gasoline prices in SC continue to edge up, reflecting the 2-cents per gallon tax increase that took effect July 1 but still posting the lowest prices in the nation. The national average has decreased 5.0 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 3.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

Nationally, the price dropped 1.7 cents during the past week to $2.24 a gallon.

July has been a steady month at the gasoline pump in Florida as prices for a gallon of gas remain stable.

The least expensive gas price averages in Florida are in Tampa-St.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state. "Last week, however, the market resumed the rise, posting a 5 percent weekly gain, so we're likely again to see something of everything: gas prices rising in most areas, falling in a few and perhaps changing little in a handful of places as well".

Midland Odessa- $2.08/g, down 2.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.11/g.

DeHaan said a special meeting OPEC has scheduled for July 27 will be watched for any policy or production changes. That's about 2 cents less than at the same point previous year.

Good news for penny pinchers across Western New York: gas prices have gone down one cent from last week.
