Sergio Aguero to Chelsea?

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker after Antonio Conte told Diego Costa he was surplus to requirements.

Chelsea could be set to launch an audacious bid for Sergio Aguero after they missed out on bringing Romelu Lukaku back to the club.

And although Aguero has not always seemed an ideal fit for Pep Guardiola's system, being forced to play as a No.9 rather than a No.10, City's hierarchy would be loath to lose such an undoubtedly world-class talent.

The Sun is quoting AS newspaper journalist Manu Sainz as claiming that Chelsea are keen to sign the 29-year-old Argentina star as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.

When asked if Aguero was staying earlier this summer, Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: 'Absolutely.

But it remains to be seen whether Manchester City would be prepared to sell the prolific striker to Premier League title rivals in the shape of Chelsea.

"I'm told Chelsea want to sign Kun Aguero". We are a team that aspires to win every competition we compete in.

Italy worldwide Andrea Belotti has also been linked with Chelsea, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be available for a whopping £70m.

Guardiola, who famously dropped Aguero on several occasions last season, appears to have made Gabriel Jesus his first-choice striker.
