The company released a glossy looking trailer (see below) for a new fighting game which unfortunately ended up being a very elaborate April Fool's joke.

Those same fans had their dreams fulfilled earlier this year during April Fool's Day - fighting game developer Arika dropped footage of a new fighter that included familiar faces from those EX games. They developed the underappreciated Street Fighter EX series of games, which used 3D models in the series for the first time, in the PlayStation era.

At Evo 2017, everyone received more confirming news that this brand new fighter will exist in some way, shape or form. For many though, Street Fighter V was a big disappointment. You can see the video embedded at the top of this post. However, neither Arika nor Capcom has made any connection to Street Fighter so far. So there you have it, a new game based on the EX series, featuring characters from the EX series such as Kairi, Shirase, Garuda, Skullomania and Darunmister., Darunmister fights with a very unusual crotch-thrust-focussed juggle attack, it really needs to be seen to be believed. The joke, however, was on those who thought it was a joke - the game's actually real, and will include long-lost characters from the EX series in its roster. Pre-orders for "EX" and a beta test for the end of 2017 have been only been announced for Japan thus far. Pre-orders for Japan will be available during the beta test, but details on pre-orders for other regions as well as pre-order bonuses will be announced at a later date.
