Star Wars: The Last Jedi has also begun sharing some gorgeous character posters.

In Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

The Posters were immediately posted on the official Star Wars Twitter account after the presentation at the Disney's Live Action panel at D23 Expo last Saturday. Although Disney and Lucas Film didn't release another full trailer for the movie, the footage still provides details and hints regarding the fate of the key characters as well as a sneak peek on a few new casts, creatures, and set pieces. This Last Jedi behind-the-scenes reel is jam-packed with so much awesome.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson spoke from D23 about Carrie Fisher's "beautiful" performance in the film as Leia, and said he hopes fans experience "catharsis" from seeing the actress play the character one more time.

However, the most impactful part of the footage is the closing line from the late Carrie Fisher at the end, "It's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it". Fans can see the former Stormtrooper back in action in "The Last Jedi" on December 15 in USA theaters.

Rian Johnson's hesitancy to commit to the idea that Star Wars: The Last Jedi "wraps up" Leia's story could be read as leaving the door open on Carrie Fisher returning for Star Wars 9 in some form, CGI or otherwise.
