It also features Acura's new signature diamond pentagon grill, surounded by larger LED headlights and a more sculpted hood.

The 2018 Acura RLX will make its public debut during the prestigious Monterey Automotive Week, August 15-19 on the Monterey peninsula, and will be available to purchase in November.

The redesigned 2018 Acura RLX is here, and it's the fastest and most capable sedan the company has ever built. This marks the first Acura application of this new Honda-developed transmission; it's already in use in the 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan and soon will be installed in the redesigned 2018 Honda Accord.

You can have the Acura RLX one of two ways.

Acura has unveiled the updated 2018 RLX, which has noticeably undergone a complete styling makeover. In addition to the grille, the RLX gets a new hood, new wheels, and new lighting, with a sea of LEDs lighting up the face.

As the division's flagship sedan, the 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid is equipped with a 3-motor hybrid powertrain that incorporates a 3.5-liter V6 to put out a combined 377 horsepower driving all four wheels.

Acura is also offering a suite of technology options for the 2018 RLX.

Also available will be the RLX with a 310-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 and rear-axle steering. The RLX P-AWS now sends power to the front wheels through a new 10-speed automatic. Customers will get to choose from a whole range of exterior colour including three new colours. An Espresso interior color is a fresh option. This is the first Acura application of this new system, which can essentially follow a vehicle ahead at lower speeds by combining adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist in a fashion similar to Volvo's Pilot Assist system. It includes forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, and road departure mitigation. Traffic Jam Assist helps keep the sedan in its lane and can follow behind a vehicle detected ahead of it - a must-have feature for daily commuters.

If you're spending the big bucks on the hybrid, the list of standard equipment grows to include a premium Krell sound system, a surround-view camera system, parking sensors, fog lights, remote start, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. Stay tuned for the official reveal, which is going to happen in Monterey next week, but the auto goes on sale in November.
