A second yellow card for Cesc Fabregas in the 81st minute of the game led to his being sent off.

In some of the other Saturday games, Watford and Liverpool ended their game 3-3 while newly promoted side Huddersfield Town stunned Crystal Palace 3-0 away from home.

Sam Vokes put Burnley up 1- after 24 minutes.

Mohamed Salah looked to have netted a victor on his Liverpool debut, but Miguel Britos headed home from point-blank range in the dying moments to secure a share of the spoils.

Roberto Firmino's penalty made it 2-2 before Mohamed Salah thought he had won it only for Britos to bundle in.

6 - Sam Vokes has scored six goals in his last six Premier League apps after netting just five in the previous 58. We kept a good shape early in the game, but the sending off makes a big difference.

Palace made a half-time change, with Andros Townsend coming on in place of Luka Milivojevic, and Christian Benteke nearly pulled a goal back - but Huddersfield made sure when Mounie struck again.

15 minutes later: up stepped Stephen Ward to make it 2-0. The Chelsea supporters vented their anger towards referee Pawson, while the delirious Burnley fans sang: "We are top of the league!" We kept the ball better, kept probing, and we kept putting balls in the box and go in 3-0.

"They made it hard for us in the second half but a win's a win and we've got three points on the board".

Alvaro Morata's introduction and fine header in the second half prompted the loudest cheer of all at Stamford Bridge, but proved no more than a gilded consolation prize on an otherwise utterly wretched afternoon.

Stefano Okaka's header opened the scoring for the home side before Sadio Mane equalised with a clinical finish only for Abdoulaye Doucoure to restore the lead from close range.

From then on, the Clarets took complete control of the game and went three goals up.
