Former Manchester United manager, David Moyes, is not convinced Paul Pogba can make the difference for the Red Devils in big games.

Pogba expects all three new arrivals to make a positive impression at Old Trafford, with the trio having already shown their worth during pre-season.

Now, as he prepares for his second season back at Old Trafford, Moyes has given his assessment of the midfielder to ESPN FC. Winning everything! A player has a great season when the team does great.

"Last season he reminded me at times of when United signed Juan Sebastian Veron".

Moyes, who was Everton manager until his move to Manchester United, spoke positively of ex-United captain Rooney's move back to his boyhood club, where he broke into the first team as a 16-year-old in 2002 under Moyes.

"Bringing Marouane Fellaini was part of what I hoped he would come to United and play in different games". I think even at the end of Wayne's time at Manchester United he was still scoring goals so the one thing Wayne is, he's a brilliant finisher, a natural finisher.

Pogba and Lukaku are expected to be on ground on Tuesday night, August 8, as Manchester United will face Spanish and reigning European League champions Real Madrid in the Super Cup. "I don't know if Pogba's that".

Pogba's confidence certainly doesn't appear to have been affected by the criticism levied at him by for United boss David Moyes earlier this week.

Giggs, speaking at the FA and McDonald's Community Awards, added: "I think Pogba is capable of dropping deep or playing in an old-fashioned midfield two and I expect him to be more effective this year".

"He's a player who knows the Premier League and I believe he will really help us a lot in the coming season." the Frenchman explained.

He is a proven menace at the summit of this country's top division and that, in a season that will demand a better league campaign from United, can not be valued highly enough. "But I am happy for him that he scored a goal after that and I'm sure that he will continue to score goals and that he will score many this season".

"But I do think that the machine that Manchester United are now, the size, the players they've got, you know they've got a massive stature to their team, I think Pogba adds to that".
