Borussia Dortmund have extended Ousmane Dembele's suspension indefinitely after the France global went AWOL this week in an attempt to force through a move to Barcelona.

"Our focus is now on preparing the team for their Bundesliga opener against Wolfsburg next weekend".

Bosz, chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc held a meeting on Saturday night and they have now made a decision to extend Dembele's suspension "until further notice" and he will have to train on his own.

Speculation that a move to Barcelona was imminent soon mounted before BVB issued a statement saying a bid had been lodged by the Catalan giants but it did not meet their valuation for a player they signed from Rennes for €15m previous year.

Dortmund added that they "will not make any more comments on the situation beyond this statement".

"Ousmane Dembele has the possibility to do individual training away from the group".

Dembele missed Dortmund's DFB-Pokal match against Rielasingen-Arlen as Maximilian Philipp and Andre Schurrle played on the wings, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting a hat-trick after Marc Bartra opened the scoring.

The France worldwide is a target for the Catalans, along with Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, as they aim to find a replacement for Neymar following his £200m move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Catalan broadcaster RAC1 has reported that Real Madrid could enter the race for Dembele, while German publication kicker said on Sunday that Barca had yet to register a new bid.
