Andrews said he also addressed the issue with PTSA members, who are volunteers.

The Parent Teacher Student Association took the blame for the letter, saying that it was a "clerical error" and that no such program will be implemented this school year.

Donations at various levels included certain perks, one of which was allowing children of parents donating $100 or more to go to the front of the lunch line.

"(The PTSA) which operates independently from the school financially, however, can not make school decisions without the principal's approval", Brian Andrews, principal of the school, told Fox News.

The pass, described in a PTSA sponshorship form, was offered in an orientation packet handed out at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy in Lakeland earlier this week.

"Like they can't have thought, 'hey, this is a great idea!'" the parent, Chris Stephenson, said. Stephenson told the media outlet he was enraged when he saw the form. "Hey my dad has more money than you I get to eat first you have to wait you have to wait", Stephenson continued.

"This definitely hits home for me, and I am very upset about it", said Brian Andrews, principal of Lawton Chiles Middle Academy.

Stephenson's post helped bring the form to the attention of Principal Bryan Andrews, who said he was not aware of and did not approve the fundraiser.

"There was much brainstorming among the group to find ways to generate funds", Andrews told Fox News. They say that the letter was accidentally put into orientation packets and that the program will not be going forward. We strive to look for new and innovative fundraising ideas to enhance the school experience for our students. This Family and Business Sponsorship program was explored, but we chose to not implement.

'Due to a clerical error, the form was inadvertently included in the Orientation packets. The intent of our PTSA is to always do the best for our students and families.

Stephenson said his problem with the offer isn't just about a student getting his food before somebody else. It says, "Please disregard this form as it was not approved prior to distribution".
