Washington and Pyongyang have recently been exchanging sharp statements. "We don't have that much insight, really, into the internal mechanisms of how the North Koreans make decisions", Clapper said in the interview.

Calling it "the responsibility of all", Macron called on the worldwide community to "act in a concerted, firm and effective manner, as it has just done in the (U.N.) Security Council, to bring North Korea back to the path of dialogue".

North Korea has lashed back at the USA following President Donald Trump's latest warnings. "While force remains on the table, this path where the global community increases pressure on North Korea must be tried first", said Soderberg.

DPRK stands for North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen", Trump said.

United States President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron have discussed North Korean issues and agreed to work to denuclearize North Korea.

Trump has long vowed to pressure China to rein in North Korea, particularly its rapidly advancing nuclear and missile programs.

Tensions around the Korean Peninsula started to rise in light of the implementation of the North Korean missile program.

At the same time, KCNA issued a detailed statement saying that a relevant plan is expected to be ready by mid-August.

He made comments Saturday while visiting his father's tomb in his ancestral hometown of Nagato in western Japan.

Trump's warning came after the North Korea threatened to fire ballistic missiles over Japan towards the US Pacific island of Guam.

"I think this was aimed primarily at China to let China know how serious we are about this; to get China to re-engage, not just to play games the way they've been doing since the meeting at Mar-a-Lago", he said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe". North Korea dominated the conversation between the two leaders, according to a readout of the call.
