Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind are likely to fill in for Shaw at left-back in his absence, although manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that the England worldwide could be back in action next month.

The 22-year-old was publicly criticised by United manager Jose Mourinho for refusing to play through the pain when injured but it appears that Shaw will be staying at the club, despite the speculation surrounding him. Along with Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo, Shaw has missed the Red Devils' pre-season fixtures, but the trio travelled with the squad to the United States.

Luke Shaw's agent Jonathan Barnett drops a strong hint that the left-back will not be leaving Manchester United in this summer's transfer window.

Luke Shaw is going to be one of the best left-backs in the world.

Shaw is now sidelined with a knee injury, but Mourinho said earlier this summer that he hopes he will return to action in September. In fact, he has even tipped the defender to become one of the "best left-backs in the world".

'Manchester United love him and Luke Shaw loves Manchester United'.

On the other hand, United have already spent £145 million this summer on Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, and Victor Lindelof.
