On Monday, the team India defeated Sri Lanka by an inning and 171 runs in the third and the final test match played at Pallekal.

In what was quite an eventful day of Test cricket at the Pallekele International Stadium, India took complete control of the game after Sri Lanka's fighting display on the first day.

As luck would have it, Pandya has already scored a century in the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka in Kandy and also ready to break partnerships of the opponent teams whenever he is given the ball.

Pandya was dismissed for 108 runs (96 balls, 8 fours and 7 sixes) after adding 66 runs for the last wicket with Umesh Yadav (3 n.o).

For Sri Lanka, it was a chance to go down fighting and that fighting spirit was shown well by both Chandimal and Mathews.

Pandya smashed a 96-ball 108 yesterday for his maiden global century, helping India post 487 in the first innings.

On day one, Shikhar Dhawan (119) and KL Rahul (85) put on the highest opening stand of 188 runs on Lankan soil as India finished at 329/6 at stumps.

Sri Lanka were all-out for 135 runs, which is their lowest total in the first innings against India at home.

However, Kohli had been reaching out to play the spinners from his crease and ended up edging the ball to first slip off Sandakan in the 79th over.

Sri Lanka would have hoped for a more composed batting performance this time, but their batsmen choked just like in the last match as wickets started falling quickly.

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the only change for the touring side, called up as a replacement for suspended left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

India vs Sri Lanka live streaming will be telecasted on Sony Six sports channel.

Ravichandran Ashwin (31) was the only wicket to fall to the faster bowlers when he edged Fernando to wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella after the hosts had taken the second new ball. "We had to be more patient and concentrate more", said a disappointed Chandimal.

Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara bowled the over to Pandya, who had scored seven off the previous two deliveries he had faced, and he took the aggressive path straightaway. The situation was pretty good for me when I went in and I knew that I could back my instincts. We are a young side, we look forward to play Test cricket, we look forward to play every single Test match with the same kind of excitement and that is the only way you can be ruthless.

After 14/1, Kusal Mendis (18) came in the middle and tried to hold the innings together but a sloppy run out caused the damage and Mendis was sent back to the pavillion with the scoreboard reading 38/3.
