Trailer 'full of people' found in Texas, police say

A group of 17 undocumented immigrants were found inside a tractor-trailer Sunday at the Flying J gas station in Edinburg, according to Edinburg police.

There were no ambulances saw on the scene, and Edinburg police did not report any wounds or setbacks. Police told KTRK-TV the trailer was "full of people", but was unable to give an exact number.

The immigrants were found in a trailer in Edinburg and their conditions weren't immediately known, ABC13 reports.

Police say the owner of the trailer is from Cuba, and the immigrants inside were from Romania, Guatemala and Mexico.

According to an NBC affiliate, a man and woman who were in charge of the trailer were detained.

The U.S. Border Patrol is investigating the incident.

Before being arrested, The Monitor watched a gathering of more than 10 people sitting in a shaded zone underneath a tree.
