Hyundai unveils new version of Verna

South Korean automaker Hyundai today launched an all-new version of its mid-sized sedan, Verna, here with introductory price starting at Rs 7.99 lakh. However, Verna's pricing is introductory and is limited to the first 20,000 units.

"The Verna brand has been a landmark product in Hyundai growth story".

The petrol variant will be available for Rs 7.99-12.23 lakh and the diesel vehicle for Rs 9.19-12.61 lakh.

"The next generation Verna is engineered to deliver excellence in all core areas of styling, performance, technology, safety, ride", Hyundai Motor India MD & CEO Y K Koo told reporters here.

The 5th generation Verna comes with new features such as projector headlamps with LED daytime running light, projector fog lamps with chrome surround as well as rear adjustable head rest, among others. Taking on the likes of the Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento, the new Hyundai Verna gets both a petrol and diesel engine with a manual or automatic gearbox option. "We will take a price increase after 20,000 units", said Rakesh Srivastava, director (sales & marketing), HMIL.
