In an FCC filing for the Pixel 2 from about a week ago, the "8998" in the baseband revealed that power would come from either a Snapdragon 835 or the updated, as-of-yet unreleased 836. Both these new smartphone unveilings lead us to the launch of second-gen Google Pixel smartphones on September 5th. The recent leaks suggest that while the smaller Google Pixel 2 will have thick bezels like the first generation, the Google Pixel 2 XL will have smaller bezels and will be manufactured by LG unlike smaller one which will be manufactured by HTC. It comes coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and Hexagon 682 DSP. Snapdragon 836 is said to be only packing a higher clock speed and battery life improvements.

Google Pixel 2 series will have two devices under its banner - Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL.

The 2017 Pixel devices will see an October 5 debut, similar to the October 4 debut of last year's models. Unlike the Galaxy Note 8 or LG V30, there will be no 3.5mm audio jack on the Pixel 2 smartphone. However, the leaked screenshot of the about page of Pixel 2 device confirmed it to run on Android 8.0.1 Oreo out of the box. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones.
