Last week, it was reported that Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) was looking for a US city to build HQ2, a $5 billion, 50,000-employee second headquarters.

Bloomberg reports that "several senior Amazon.com Inc. executives" are pushing to have a second headquarters in Boston.

Gov. Brian Sandoval says Nevada is looking to become the future site for Amazon's second headquarters. The New York Times recently published an analysis ranking potential HQ2-worthy cities and Boston made it to the top four.

This doesn't mean Boston is going to win out, but it sounds like some execs inside certainly hope that's where Amazon ends up.

As for Amazon, the company is keeping its digital lips sealed.

Bloomberg is wrong, Amazon said, tweeting that "Bloomberg is incorrect - there are no front-runners at this point".

Amazon has responded saying that all cities remain "on an equal playing field".

The new facility would require as many as 50,000 full-time workers.
