After a two-year hiatus, Liverpool return to Champions League action on Wednesday night.

Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelmann said his team played "like headless chickens" at Anfield, but Sevilla boss Eduardo Berizzo is confident his side will rise to the challenge in an intense environment.

The majority of Liverpool's attacking threat comes down the left wing, specifically in the shape of the lightening quick Sadio Mane, who is likely to be accompanied by the overlapping runs and risky deliveries of rising star left-back Andrew Robertson.

Liverpool discovered yesterday that their appeal to get his three-match suspension lowered following a red card at Manchester City had been dismissed by the FA, a decision that did not surprise Klopp.

"But I'm not angry, I'm very emotional and very loud, I'm this little five to 10 percent to give them a boost".

Expectations at Anfield are higher now, but Liverpool look far from a complete team as they prepare to face Sevilla once more, this time in Group E of the Champions League.

Klopp hinted that the 25-year-old Brazilian will at least be on the bench against Sevilla tomorrow morning. Liverpool are also joined in the group with Russian side Spartak Moscow and Maribor of Slovenia.

Mellor thinks Liverpool will make no mistake against Sevilla and should have 2016's Europa League final defeat at the hands of the Spaniards in their minds. The player received an early shower against Manchester City and will be suspended for the weekend game, which is likely to see Jurgen Klopp name the attacker in the starting lineup against Sevilla.

Yet the big concern must be that the defensive issues from two seasons ago have yet to be solved a couple of seasons later and it is a major concern heading into this Champions League campaign.

Liverpool still lacks that powerhouse leader at the back, the decisive voice, the talisman who will put his head in where it hurts. Liverpool however ended up insisting that they will not sell the player and went on to reject numerous offers from the Catalan giants.
