Arriving Nov. 3, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

He said: "It's great that we have Blanchett and Thompson, these two wonderful, powerful, strong, beautiful, intelligent women, playing these two important, integral characters in this movie".

We have Hela, played by Blanchett. She's now the manifestation of death. She is another female presence who didn't feel welcome.

In Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok", Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok-the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization-at the hands of an all-powerful threat, the ruthless Hela. But she's also lost faith in the patriarchy and the elite power structure. "What he realized really fast - I don't think I'm giving too much away because it's right at the top of the film, but basically that one quest, that universe-ending peril that he was trying to figure out dovetailed or branched off into any number of universe ending-perils that he's been adventuring on for the two years leading up to the beginning of this film".

Director Taika Waititi recently teased there will be a new-look Thor in the latest film and revealed he is to be "grubbier" than previously.

Now that Thor: Ragnarok has been named as the most-anticipated release of the fall season - ahead of Justice League, no less - it's fair to say that excitement for Marvel and Taika Waititi's galactic epic is beginning to reach a fever-pitch. A lot of people want to see Ragnarok and know what it means; but, to me, Ragnarok means stripping down the establishment and then building it up in a new way.

During a visit to the set of Thor: Ragnarok by Screen Rant producer Brad Winderbaum revealed the god of thunder has been investigating Thanos and the Infinity Stones, which explains his absence from the conflict that pitted Avenger against Avenger.
