Asus has launched the Zenfone V in the USA, and that might be the Zenfone 5 in Apple-speak, but here it's [vee] for Verizon. According to a report by GSMArena, the company launched the smartphone as a Verizon exclusive. Hence there's no info on pricing and availability.

The new smartphone is listed on Asus' website but Verizon has not yet given any official word about the smartphone.

Asus Zenfone V comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution along with Corning Gorilla Glass, Tru2life technology for high contrast and outdoor readability, 10-finger capacitive touch, fingerprint and smudge-resistant oleophobic coating and support for glove touch. The device incorporates 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

The phone measures 5.77 x 2.86 x 0.3 inches and weighs in at 147 grams and it will be available in Sapphire Black color.

Let's come to the optics now. Even fewer have the Snapdragon 820 at the helm, just the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and now this Zenfone V. Probably that's where the primary camera comes from too - a 23MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture lens and OIS.

The interesting part about Zenfone V is the addition of a 23 MP camera module on the back with f/2.0 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The camera app on the device also offers a lot of shooting modes which would be helpful in enhancing users' photo shooting skills.

The handset is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it runs ASUS ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.
