Colts plan to start QB Jacoby Brissett

He came into the game to replace Scott Tolzien last week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who led the league in receiving yardage a year ago on the other end of several deep balls from Luck, said all it takes is protection for the quarterback and the ability for the receivers to win their individual matchups.

For Bettcher, specifically, the return to Indianapolis is significant.

Both teams and the Miami Dolphins, who play at the Los Angeles Chargers, wore "ONE FLORIDA" decals on their helmets.

"It's good to be able to focus on one so you don't have to worry about anything else", he said, "just focus on that, that footwork, what to do". Brissett looked phenomenal during the preseason and held his own starting couple games for New England past year during Tom Brady's suspension. However, it has problems of its own. Without David and Butler in the secondary, Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer could have an easier day than anticipated.

Health is a major concern, as four starters - Johnson, wide receiver John Brown, left tackle D.J. Also, tight end Jermaine Gresham is doubtful. Rookie wide receiver Chad Williams will make his National Football League debut with Brown sidelined.

Still, the Colts, led by first-year GM Chris Ballard and head coach Chuck Pagano, made a decision to move on from Morris in favor of Tolzien. I don't care who gets the yardage, who gets the glory.

"He's a damn good football coach and knows the game inside and out", Pagano said. It held down a talented Lions defense for three quarters on Sunday before the floodgates opened.

After a disastrous showing in Week 1 against the Rams in which the Colts lost 46-9, Jacoby Brissett has been named the starter for Week 2 against the Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "I think those were the only guys that was there when I was there my past year", he said. Palmer looked every bit his age and just couldn't get the offense moving against Detroit. "He's been here (more than) a week, so getting to know him is as important as him getting to know the playbook".

He'd just been fired by the Steelers and was on his way back to Pittsburgh from his "forever" home in Georgia to pick up the last of his things when Pagano called with a job offer in 2012.

When Arians arrived in Arizona, he brought with him a pair of coaches: offensive line coach Harold Goodwin, now the Cardinals offensive coordinator, and special assistant to the head coach and outside linebackers coach James Bettcher, who was promoted to Cardinals defensive coordinator in 2015. The next few months will be challenging without Johnson to lean on, but the Cardinals aren't waving a white flag. Jaron Brown got the start at receiver last week and ended the game without a catch.

So it was a week about the Cardinals' offense and the struggles last week and the injuries they already have endured just one game into the season.
