Manchester United Begin Talks With Marouane Fellaini Over New Contract

Marouane Fellaini will enter talks with Manchester United over a new contract after making an impressive start to the 2017/18 season, according to reports.

Belgian worldwide Marouane Fellaini is in talks with Manchester United over a new contract, according to a report.

As a result United have tabled an initial offer to the midfielder about extending his stay at Old Trafford, after the club were urged to do so by Mourinho himself.

Mourinho has publicly praised the big Belgian for what he brings to the team.

He said: "I have always thought of Fellaini as a player with special qualities".

However, according to the Mirror's Simon Mulluck, Mourinho views Fellaini as an important member of his squad and will enter talks with the midfielder over a potential new deal to keep him at Old Trafford beyond the summer.

The Belgian giant has already proven this in United's Champions League campaign, after coming on for Paul Pogba to score the opener against Basel last Tuesday.

The report, however, adds that Fellaini wants more than the one-year extension now on the table.
