Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has won a contract to supply 150 G114-2.0MW wind turbines with an overall capacity of 300MW to the Xilinhot complex, which is now being built in Inner Mongolia, China.

Specifically, Siemens Gamesa will supply and commission 150 G114-2.0 MW turbines for the Xilinhot complex and will service them under a long-term operations and maintenance agreement.

It is no surprise, then, that the newly-merged company has continued its performance in Asia, and has this week reinforced its commitment to the region with a new order for 300 megawatts (MW), one of the largest orders ever in Asia.

The company expects the first turbines to be installed in the second quarter of 2018 and the entire complex to be up and running by the end of 2018.

"With this significant order, the company has achieved a new milestone in its strategy in China where it has already installed over 4.6 GW", said Siemens Gamesa Asia Pacific chief executive Alvaro Bilbao.

The company has installed more than 6.3GW of capacities in these markets so far.
