BSNL and Vodafone plan to take on JioPhone

With the new BSNL Rs. 249 prepaid plan, the telecom industry has been focusing on to add more and more customers with BSNL.

State-owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has rolled out two new plans to lure its prepaid customers. It offers 1GB data for 90 days along with unlimited calling benefits. BSNL claimed that it is collaborating with Micromax and Lava to reveal co-branded feature handsets next month at nearly Rs 2,000 with packed offers such as free of cost calls.

Jio has also launched a new recharge plan at Rs. 349, which comes with 20s GB of 4G data with a validity of 56 days without any daily limit.

BSNL is offering unlimited local and STD calls from BSNL to BSNL along with 1GB data per day for Rs 249. The BSNL website notes that Rs 249 offer will only be available till October 25, 2017.

Along with the Rs 249 plan, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has also announced another recharge plan recently.

The BSNL Rs 429 recharge plan comes with unlimited voice calls and 1 GB of data per day. This offer validity is 90 days for prepaid mobile users.

Not only BSNL, but Idea has also jumped in the data war but it has taken the competition one step ahead.

Under a pack priced at Rs 149, the Reliance Jio offers the unlimited local and STD calls to landline or mobile number across the India. Reliance Jio users get 1 GB of data per day at 4 G data speed. After you consume the 56 GBs of high speed data, the internet speed will be reduced to 128 kbps, Jio said. The partnerships come as Reliance gets ready to make JioPhone, its 4G feature phone, which operates only on the Jio network, obtainable at the time of Navratri that begins this week. Also mentioned is that once the seven days are over, the data won't be carried forward.
