Compass Group CEO Cousins Retires, Replaced By Europe COO

Compass Group Plc (CPG.L, CMPGF.PK) announced that Richard Cousins has chose to step down from his role as Group CEO on 31 March 2018 and to retire from the Group on 30 September 2018. Dominic joined Compass Group in 2012 and has already contributed significantly to the group as CFO for four years and for the past two years as chief operating officer Europe.

Compass, which operates in 50 countries with more than 500,000 staff, saw third-quarter revenue growth of 3.9% when it announced a trading update in July.

Dominic Blakemore, Compass's chief operating officer for Europe, will become deputy chief executive on October 1 before succeeding Mr Cousins as chief executive next year.

Paul Walsh, Compass's chairman, said: "In the past 11 years Richard has transformed Compass into an industry leading organisation that delivers excellent food services to our clients, attracts and develops great people and generates significant returns for our shareholders".

Mr Blakemore said: "I am fortunate to be supported by a very strong senior management team and together we will continue to build on the success achieved under Richard's leadership".
