Ahead of the English Football League (EFL) voting on whether to follow the Premier League's lead on the issue, the Canaries boss did add that he had some concerns about the potential changes putting English clubs at a disadvantage though.

EFL clubs say they would be in favour of an earlier closure of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League window will close on the Thursday before the top-flight season begins, but no date has been given for a proposed EFL deadline.

It was a busy summer transfer window in the Premier League as most of the top teams brought in significant reinforcements for the 2017-18 campaign.

"The clubs have been clear in their mandate and we will now go away and look to develop a set of proposals before moving this matter on to the next stage, which would be a formal vote in order to change our regulations".

The consensus among managers is that signing players once the season is under way causes unnecessary disruption to their squads and preparations.

Presently, the transfer window across Europe runs until 31 August. Earlier this month, the top flight clubs voted to close the summer window at 5 pm local time on the Thursday before the start of the season.
