These Halo games join the already backwards compatible Halo: Reach, Halo Wars and Halo: Spartan Assault.

Halo 3: ODST Campaign Edition includes the base ODST game and Firefight, but does not include additional Halo 3 maps. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 have all been added to the list of games that are backwards compatible on Xbox One. Halo Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 are all part of the Halo Master Chief Collection (which also includes Halo 2 Anniversary).

The only thing Halo fans have left to hope for is that Microsoft remasters Halo 2: Anniversary for the Xbox One.

The backward compatibility program is a free service for Xbox One owners that allows them to play select Xbox 360 games, provided they already own them on disc or have purchased them digitally.

Luckily Microsoft is adding support for original Xbox games later this year according to the company's announcement at this year's E3. If you own the games on Xbox 360 or have never played them, be sure to pick them up!

You can view a current list of games available in a convenient text format on the Xbox site.
