The display has an 18:9 aspect ratio and offers up to 85.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus smartphones will go up for pre-order in China on September 25, while sales will start on September 30. As usual with vivo devices, it's unclear if or when they will be officially sold outside of China. They will be available in Rose Gold, Gold, and Black color options. Vivo will also be offering the X20A, which is identical to the X20 in terms of core specs but packs 128GB of internal storage. The 64GB and 128GB storage variants of the Vivo X20 are priced at 2998 Yuan and 3398 Yuan respectively. The X20 Plus will cost CNY 3,498 ($530 or €444). A normal fingerprint sensor is also included. Face Wake face unlock feature is said to unlock the smartphone in just 0.1 seconds. A 24 MP selfie camera is on the front, while the fingerprint scanner moved to the back because it couldn't fit elsewhere what with the tiny display bezels and all. The company claims that it can detect up to 128 different facial features before proceeding to unlock the device. The connectivity aspects of the Vivo X20 include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Global Positioning System and dual SIM support.

The Vivo X20 bestows a 6.01-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The only difference between the X20 and the X20 Plus is the screen size and the battery capacity. The X20 Plus also packs in most of the same internals as the X20, but comes with a larger 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X9S Plus houses the same dual rear-facing camera setup that comes combined with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, OIS, LED flash and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for capturing high-quality bokeh images.

The phones are running Android 7.1.1 out of the box, with the FunTouch OS3.0 on top, with Vivo even including its own built-in AI assistant. Both the device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity.
