Although the Japanese automaker doesn't specifically mention its iconic WRX in a brief statement accompanying the images, the Viziv Performance Concept will form the basis of Subaru's next generation WRX and WRX STI performance range which are due in 2019.

For example, the roof is now made entirely from carbon fiber to shave off some weight and at the same time lower the WRX STI's center of gravity to improve the driving experience.

All of them will come with a special Cool Grey Khaki exterior body colour, and you'll have to enter a lottery for the chance to buy one. Subaru worked with its motorsports subsidiary, Subaru Tecnica International (STI) for the exclusive development of the engine and suspension on the limited edition performance auto. The Subaru S208 follows the success of the S207 that debuted in 2015 by creating an even more hardcore and rare version of the WRX STI.

This is the Subaru BRZ STI Sport, which is set to premiere at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. The 2018 BRZ STI Sport will also get exterior and interior modifications exclusive to the limited edition sports coupe.

A further two concepts will be unveiled; the XV Fun Adventure concept and Impreza Future Sport concept.

Subaru has said it targets Level 2 autonomy by around 2020.

It's called the Subaru VIZIV Performance Concept, and it's a sports sedan that "embodies the brand's vision for the future of making cars that deliver Enjoyment and Peace of mind to its customers".
